WEST BANGKA -- The spirit of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia was felt across West Bangka Regency. PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk held an Independence Day Exercise and community clean-up as part of its efforts to strengthen synergy with the West Bangka Regency Government and the local community.
The event, held at the former PT TIMAH Golf Course in Mentok, West Bangka, on Friday morning (August 14, 2026), was attended by hundreds of participants, including PT TIMAH employees, employees of the West Bangka Regency Government, university students, and members of the public.
With great enthusiasm, participants followed each movement led by the exercise instructor. The activity not only promoted health and fitness but also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships and foster a sense of togetherness among the Company, local government, and community.
Deputy Regent of West Bangka, H. Yus Derahman, attended the event and joined the community in the exercise. He expressed his appreciation for the Independence Day Exercise organized by PT TIMAH to enliven the 81st Independence Day celebration.
"Since this activity is being held as part of the 81st Independence Day celebration, we call it the Independence Day Exercise. This activity also serves as an opportunity to inform the public that the former PT TIMAH Golf Course will be used for various activities, including the Independence Day parade and marching competition," Yus Derahman said on Friday (August 14, 2026).
According to him, collaboration between PT TIMAH and the West Bangka Regency Government is important to support the smooth implementation of various activities leading up to Independence Day.
"On behalf of the West Bangka Regency Government, we would like to thank PT TIMAH for its synergy and support in helping make the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia a success," he said.
In addition to employees and government officials, the Independence Day Exercise also attracted students from the University of Bangka Belitung. One of them, 22-year-old Fatih, said the activity provided multiple benefits, both for physical health and social interaction.
"There are many benefits to this exercise. In addition to maintaining our health and physical fitness, interacting with the community through activities like this is also very beneficial," he said.
