BANGKA -- Convenient and accessible healthcare services are an important need for communities. Through its free healthcare program, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk once again provided medical services directly to local residents.
This time, the free healthcare services were provided in Air Abik Hamlet, Gunung Muda Village, Belinyu District, Bangka Regency, directly in front of the Gebong Memarong Traditional Village, on Friday (October 2, 2026). A total of 101 patients received free medical services from PT TIMAH.
PT TIMAH’s healthcare services were enthusiastically welcomed by the community, as residents did not have to travel long distances to receive medical examinations. Instead, the services were brought directly to their neighborhood.
One of the residents who benefited from the program was Rati, a resident of Air Abik Hamlet, who used the free healthcare service for the first time. Although this was her first time receiving treatment through the program, she was already familiar with it because her grandfather regularly uses the service whenever the mobile healthcare team visits their area.
For Rati, accessibility is one of the key advantages of PT TIMAH’s free healthcare services. In addition to being more convenient because the service comes directly to the village, she said the process was also faster and did not require the long waiting times often experienced when seeking treatment at healthcare facilities.
“The service here is faster, and we don’t have to wait in line. The service is also good. It’s more convenient because they come directly to our village,” Rati said.
She came to have a recurring toothache examined. She had previously been advised to have her tooth checked to determine whether there might be an issue with the tooth root.
The medical team from PT TIMAH’s Mobil Sehat (Mobile Health Unit) made Rati feel comfortable throughout the examination. She said the doctor provided friendly and attentive care, helping patients feel at ease.
“The service is good and friendly. We also receive the medication we need right away,” she said.
For Rati, the presence of accessible healthcare services like these provides tangible benefits to local residents. She hopes the Mobil Sehat program will continue and reach even more communities in the future. (*)
