PT Timah's Commitment to Enhancing MSME Competitiveness in Supporting the National Economy

PANGKALPINANG – In its efforts to promote inclusive national economic growth, PT Timah Tbk consistently demonstrates its commitment to supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

MSMEs play a crucial role in creating jobs, increasing community income, and fostering equitable economic development across various regions.

Through its Micro and Small Business Funding (PUMK) program, PT Timah supports MSMEs in diverse sectors, offering initiatives ranging from capacity-building training to access to capital. By prioritizing a sustainable approach, the company not only helps MSMEs survive but also thrive.

In 2024 alone, PT Timah disbursed revolving funds to 194 MSMEs, amounting to IDR 10 billion.

To implement the PUMK program, PT Timah collaborates with Bank BRI to channel funding to MSME actors.

The program targets MSMEs in various sectors, including agriculture, trade, creative industries, culinary, fashion, crafts, livestock, services, and more.

In addition to providing capital support, PT Timah plays a role in enhancing the capacity of MSME actors through training and mentoring. In 2024, the company organized two training sessions for MSMEs, focusing on strategies for MSME development and a talk show on boosting MSME competitiveness.

As a member of the MIND ID mining industry holding, PT Timah also promotes and markets its partner MSME products at various local and national exhibitions. Throughout 2024, the company participated in 23 MSME bazaars.

To date, thousands of MSMEs have benefited from the PUMK program. Many have successfully scaled their businesses, created new jobs, and made positive contributions to their local economies.

This success was evident in 2024, as 20 of PT Timah Tbk's partner MSMEs were able to upgrade their business levels.

PT Timah's Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the company remains committed to supporting MSMEs as part of its corporate social responsibility and its contribution to the national economy.

"With the growth and development of MSMEs, people's purchasing power increases, unemployment rates decrease, and regional economies advance. Since 2000, the company has been committed to supporting the MSME sector," said Anggi.

She expressed hope that through collaboration and innovation, PT Timah can continue to support Indonesian MSMEs as drivers of the national economy.

One of PT Timah's partner MSMEs, Bela Kartika Aprilia (35), who runs the Sepiak Belitung business, shared how her business's growth has been supported by PT Timah Tbk.

"We are greatly helped by PT Timah Tbk's partnership program, from interest-free loans to product-making training and promotions outside the region. This support has truly helped us improve product quality and expand our market reach," said Bela. (*)
