KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk's 50th Anniversary Community Service Month reached the community of Kundur Island, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province, with a series of social programs held at Wisma Timah Kundur on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).
Carrying the theme "Tin for the People," the Community Service Month featured free mass circumcision, blood donation, and free health check-up services, all of which received an enthusiastic response from the local community.
A total of 78 children participated in the mass circumcision program, while 120 people took part in the blood donation drive. Meanwhile, 125 residents benefited from the free health check-up services.
The community's enthusiasm was evident from the start of the event. Residents from several villages surrounding PT TIMAH's operational area came to take advantage of the social services provided as part of the company's 50th anniversary celebration.
For the community, the event was more than just an anniversary celebration—it was an opportunity to receive services that delivered direct and meaningful benefits.
The Head of West Kundur District, Yusran, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's continued commitment to organizing social programs for communities across Kundur.
According to him, the Community Service Month provides tangible benefits, particularly for residents of West Kundur District and surrounding villages.
"We sincerely appreciate PT TIMAH. Today, the people of West Kundur and Gemuruh Village are directly benefiting from PT TIMAH's 50th anniversary activities, ranging from children's circumcision and blood donation to free health check-up services. These programs are truly beneficial for the community," he said.
He also thanked PT TIMAH for making essential services more accessible to local residents, particularly children participating in the mass circumcision program.
"Thank you to PT TIMAH. Children from Gemuruh and Prayun villages have been able to directly enjoy the benefits of this program. Hopefully, initiatives like this will continue to expand in the future, reaching not only these two villages but many others as well," he added.
Yusran expressed his hope that PT TIMAH would continue to grow so it could expand the reach of its social programs and benefit even more communities.
"We fully support PT TIMAH in becoming even more successful in the future. In addition to these social programs, PT TIMAH has also carried out mangrove planting and various CSR initiatives. Hopefully, tin production will continue to increase so that programs like these can reach even more people," he said.
Similar appreciation was expressed by the Head of Kundur Village, Marhalim. He said the 50th Anniversary Community Service Month reflected the company's genuine concern for the community, with benefits that could be felt directly by local residents.
"Our community has greatly benefited from these Community Service Month programs. We hope that next year there will be even more social initiatives in addition to these three activities. We wish PT TIMAH continued success as it celebrates its 50th anniversary and hope it will keep bringing benefits to the community," he said.
Meanwhile, one of the residents of Telok Radang, Jabar, took advantage of the free health check-up services provided during the event.
Jabar said he learned about the program through the village administration. He welcomed the free healthcare services, saying they made it easier for residents to have their health checked without incurring any costs.
"Programs like this are very helpful for us. The services are easily accessible to the community, and we can receive health check-ups free of charge. I hope activities like this will continue, and may PT TIMAH continue to be blessed," he said.
The 50th Anniversary Community Service Month has also been held across Bangka Island in Bangka Belitung Islands Province and will continue to be carried out throughout PT TIMAH's operational areas. (*)
