PT Timah's 49th Anniversary Celebration Begins, Highlighted by Social, Sports, and Religious Activities

PANGKALPINANG -- In celebration of its upcoming 49th anniversary on August 2, PT Timah is set to host a series of events aimed at strengthening the company’s social responsibility values while fostering harmony with the community.

Carrying the theme “For the Red and White,” PT Timah’s 49th anniversary activities will focus on various social initiatives that directly address community needs.

The lineup of anniversary events includes decluttering activities, religious programs, sports competitions, and a health week.

The anniversary celebration was officially launched by PT Timah’s President Director, Restu Widiyantoro, during the 2025 Town Hall Meeting with employees and subsidiaries on Friday, July 4, 2025.

“The 49th Anniversary of PT Timah will include sports, social, and religious activities under the theme 'For the Red and White,'” said PT Timah’s President Director, Restu Widiyantoro.

The series of events began with an opening thanksgiving event featuring a religious sermon delivered by Ustaz Abdul Somad at Graha Timah Pangkalpinang.

During his sermon, Ustaz Abdul Somad discussed the application of AKHLAK values in daily life and in the workplace, encouraging everyone to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and to positively impact Indonesian society.

“This mine belongs to the state, and the state, both in terms of constitutional law and Islamic principles, recognizes the President as Ulil Amri. Oil, coal, gold, silver, including tin, are state assets. Historically, the Sultanates handed over their sovereignty to the President, who by decree appointed a special company to manage these mines — that company is PT Timah. This isn’t just about the state; it’s also about religious belief. Whoever betrays this has no integrity. The key value is trustworthiness. If we are trustworthy and faithful, the nation will be safe,” he said.

“This tin belongs to Bangka Belitung, and Bangka Belitung is united with Indonesia. Therefore, the central government must ensure that the benefits of this tin are also felt by the people of Bangka Belitung and all of Indonesia — as part of social justice for all,” he concluded.
