PT Timah Tbk's TJSL Program Encourages Community Economic Independence and Preserves Indigenous Communities

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk continues to be committed to implementing environmental social responsibility (TJSL) which is implemented with sustainable programs for communities in the company's operational areas.

PT Timah Tbk's TJSL program is implemented in several superior programs such as the social and economic sectors, health, education, infrastructure, disaster, and community development based on its potential.

Until the third quarter of 2023, PT Timah Tbk has distributed CSR amounting to IDR 29.6 billion which is divided into three areas, namely PPM, TJSL, and PUMK.

Other TJSL programs carried out include increasing the capacity of development partners and the ERG disaster response program that occurs at the local and national levels.

PT Timah Tbk also supports the independence of MSMEs through the Micro Small Business Funding (PUMK) program by supporting capital, promotion, and marketing of MSME products.

The presence of PT Timah Tbk's TJSL program has benefited many people. As stated by the Deputy Chair of the Al-Iman Mosque, West Kundur Village, Basri expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for the assistance that had been provided so that it could help with the drainage construction process at their mosque.

"This assistance will be used to repair drainage channels around the mosque. During the rainy season, the area around the mosque often floods because water from the road enters the area around the mosque, so we will make drainage so that rainwater does not flood around the mosque," he said.

This is the same as what was conveyed by a group of fishermen in Bangka Regency, Eko Hendra Susanto (33), who was involved in the drowning activity of PT Timah Tbk's squid attractor in Rebo Waters.

"Thank you PT Timah for helping us, hopefully in the future, there will be more attractors or FADs that will be sunk around this sea. "Because with more and more attractors and FADs being sunk, we don't have to go far to find fish," he said. (*)
