PANGKALPINANG -- During the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk shared joy while strengthening ties with the community through its Safari Ramadan program held across various operational areas.
Through the Safari Ramadan activities conducted at six locations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province, PT TIMAH distributed various forms of social assistance to the community.
The company shared blessings by providing donations to orphans and underprivileged individuals, as well as support for mosque caretakers, Quran teachers, and Quran memorization students. In addition, basic food packages were distributed to those in need.
Beyond social and religious activities, the Safari Ramadan program also brought economic benefits to local MSMEs. The company purchased products from MSMEs to be distributed as gifts during the events.
Safari Ramadan is an annual program organized by the company to strengthen the sense of togetherness between employees and surrounding communities.
A warm and familial atmosphere was present throughout the events, which included communal iftar, religious sermons, and the symbolic handover of assistance.
In addition to these initiatives, PT TIMAH also supported various Ramadan community activities, including the traditional lampu colok festival in Karimun Regency, assistance for houses of worship, and support for Pesantren Kilat programs in East Belitung Regency.
One of the Quran memorization students who received assistance was Raghil Agustina Mahardika, a teenager from Pemali Village, Bangka Regency, who has completed memorizing all 30 juz of the Quran.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and thankful to PT TIMAH for supporting Quran memorization students. Hopefully, PT TIMAH will continue to support and nurture future generations of Quran memorizers so they can achieve balance in both worldly and spiritual life,” said Raghil.
The Deputy Regent of West Bangka, Yus, also expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s active role in supporting the community, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.
“Alhamdulillah, at several Safari Ramadan locations, PT TIMAH has contributed to helping underprivileged communities and orphans. Thank you for PT TIMAH’s care for the people of West Bangka. We hope the company continues to prosper and that the synergy that has been built will grow even stronger,” he said.
One of the aid recipients, Tirta (11), a fifth-grade elementary school student from Gemuruh Village, Karimun Regency, expressed his happiness upon receiving the assistance. He plans to use it for religious needs and to buy items for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebration.
“I’m very happy to receive this assistance. I’ll use it for praying and studying the Quran, and the rest to buy clothes for Eid,” he said.
Through this initiative, PT TIMAH hopes to continue spreading benefits and making a positive contribution to society. Beyond Ramadan, the company remains committed to carrying out sustainable social programs to support the well-being of communities in its operational areas. (*)
