BELITUNG TIMUR - Selinssing Reclamation Village in Selinsing Village, Gantung District, East Belitung Regency which is managed by PT Timah Tbk together with BumDes Selinsing is the location for the MSME bazaar of the Entrepreneurial Community Movement (GEMAWIRA) of East Belitung Regency.
The MSME Bazaar, which starts from 10 to 12 February 2023, makes the Selinsing Reclamation Village crowded with people. The charm of the ex-mining land that was transformed by PT Timah Tbk into the Selinssing Reclamation Village is indeed increasingly attractive as a tourist destination.
Apart from the MSME Bazaar, PT Timah Tbk's Selinssing Reclamation Village also held competitions for children such as coloring, painting, and fashion shows.
East Belitung Gemawira chairman Bambang Suherli expressed his gratitude to all the committee and support parties. He was grateful that the bazaar event could run smoothly until the closing night.
"On behalf of the management, we would like to thank PT Timah Tbk for allowing this bazaar to be held and Bumdes Selinsing for helping," said Bambang Suherli.
According to Bambang, this activity was greeted with extraordinary enthusiasm by visitors, namely recording a turnover of around Rp. 82 million during the two days of implementation from a total of 45 booths that took part.
"Today is also busy and crowded. If we calculate an average of Rp. 40 million a day for three days, it is around Rp. 120 million," he said.
Bambang continued, in the future, the MSME bazaar will be held in every sub-district in Beltim later. Because the Bazaar is to help MSMEs to upgrade and increase turnover, of course.
"We also thank the Beltim Regency Government for supporting us," he explained.
Meanwhile, Assistant 1 to the Beltim Regional Secretariat Sayono representing the Beltim Regent Burhanudin expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Gemawira Beltim MSMEs bazaar, in celebrating the 1st Gemawira Beltim Anniversary and the 20th Beltim Anniversary.
"Hopefully this event will get the expected results and the Beltim MSMEs can increase as one of the economic drivers," he said.
In the same vein, Selinssing Village Head Harianto appreciated the Gemawira MSME bazaar being held in their village, because MSMEs gathered at the bazaar.
"So the public can know what products are produced by these MSMEs in this MSME bazaar," he said.
Harianto also hopes that the event will continue to be present in their village because this activity is able to move the community's economy.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Selinsing Bumdes, Diky Apriansyah, revealed that his party was involved as the manager of the Reclamation Village by the MSME community as a place provider.
The choice of Selinssing Reclamation Village Agrotourism as the location for the MSME Bazaar, competition, and fashion show increased tourist visits to the place.
"Our main goal is actually to promote Kampong Reclamation so that it is more widely known by the public," he explained.
According to him, the UMKM Bazaar had an impact on the visitors who came, namely around 3,000 visitors in the three days of the Gemawira MSME activities.
"One of the impacts for reclamation is as a promotional event for sure Selinssing Reclamation Village can be better known by the wider community, then maybe in the future this activity can be carried out again because of the very good response from the community," he explained.
He also appreciated it, as long as the implementation went smoothly and there was no damage whatsoever to the facilities and infrastructure at the location.
"Alhamdulillah, during this event from start to finish there was no damage whatsoever related to the facilities in the Reclamation Village, only sometimes some people or even visitors are still not aware of disposing of trash," he said. (**)
