PANGKALPINANG -- The 10K Run Race in PT Timah Tbk's Healthy Week was a success. As many as 300 runners took part in the running competition in the context of PT Timah Tbk's 47th anniversary, which started from the PT Timah Tbk Head Office in Pangkalpinang, Sunday (6/8/2023).
The President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Ahmad Dani Virsal along with the Board of Directors of PT Timah Tbk and Jauhari Johan athlete who won the 2019 Sea Games Gold Medal for the Duathlon Sport released hundreds of Run Race participants consisting of internal PT Timah Tbk and the general public.
The runners raced each other to be the fastest to conquer the 10K route around the city of Pangkalpinang. Stamina and strategy in managing speed are the keys to getting to the finish line quickly.
Since the first 30 minutes after being released at 05.30 WIB the participants started coming to the finish line. Various expressions appeared when they arrived, even though the sweat didn't stop pouring they looked happy to be able to conquer the 10K route.
The President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Ahmad Dani Virsal, when releasing the participants, also gave encouragement to the runners who will take part in this competition.
Seeing the enthusiasm of the runners participating in this activity, in the future he hopes that events like this will be held on a larger scale.
"Hopefully what we feel can inspire us. This is our effort to nourish the community with the 10K Timah Run Race. Hopefully what we are doing today will continue in even bigger events," he said.
On this occasion, he advised runners to maintain safety and be able to reach the finish line.
"Happy racing, keep consistency and keep passion, the distance is not far and not close. This requires consistency and excellent health but still prioritizing safety," he ordered.
The winner of the Run Race in the Male category, Septian Jaya, said that he had come from Belitung to take part in this activity. He managed to finish in 33 minutes 47 seconds.
"I came from Belitung on a ship to take part in this event. I really intend to take part in this event. Thankfully, I was able to get on the podium," he said.
Likewise, a running athlete from Central Bangka Marina won first place in the female category. He even had no confidence that he could conquer the 10K route in 40 minutes and 54 seconds.
"I often lack confidence when I want to take part in competitions. But thankfully this can be the first. In my opinion, this event is really extraordinary, the route is delicious, the committee is fun and cohesive and the event runs neatly," said this student.
For him, this event is a warm-up for him before the Porprov event which will be held soon.
"This is a warm-up for Porprov because I will also be participating in three races in 5K, 10K, and 21K. Hopefully, PT Timah Tbk will often organize events like this because now many people are interested in taking part in running events," he said.
Meanwhile, Jauhari Johan, gold medalist at the 2019 Sea Games Sports Duathlon, appreciated PT Timah Tbk for presenting this Run Race event.
"The enthusiasm of the runners was very enthusiastic. I conveyed tips for beginners, it is hoped that they will continue to run using their own taste. Please run with enthusiasm," he said.
He said that an event like this could support the emergence of new athletes in Babylon.
"From Babel, there have been athletes who have gone on to run nationally like Yahuza. And with an event like this, of course, it can be a place for new athletes to emerge because earlier I saw that many were still beginners," he stated. (*)
