EAST BELITUNG -- PT Timah Tbk's Health Car Program on Belitung Island provides services for nearly 1,000 people on Belitung Island in 2022.
The free health services carried out in the car are PT Timah Tbk's efforts to bring health services closer to the community.
The Head of the East Belitung Health Office, Muhamad Yulhaidir, also appreciated the existence of the Healthy Car belonging to members of the Indonesian MIND ID Mining Holding.
Yulhaidir said the health service helps people in East Belitung to get free health services.
"My response is that having a healthy car has a direct positive impact on the community regarding convenience in community services, especially in areas that are quite far from basic service health facilities," said Muhamad Yulhaidir.
According to him, the healthy car service is very helpful, especially the elderly because the service is carried out directly in the villages, so that health services can be brought closer.
"There needs to be a more intense and routine schedule in the areas where services are provided. The agenda needs to be added again," he explained.
He explained, currently the diseases experienced by many people in East Belitung are hypertension and the hypocholesterol category. Diseases that in general do affect the age factor and lifestyle of the community.
Therefore, this disease is closely related to a clean and healthy lifestyle through the Healthy Living Community movement.
"It is hoped that for health at the beginning it will emphasize more on preventive and promotive treatment of healthy living," he pleaded.
He hopes that in the future Healthy Cars can come regularly to areas that have already been visited so that they can help monitor the quality of public health.
"Hopefully this program will continue to run as a supporting program alongside the health office to strengthen services," he explained.
Not forgetting that he also provided input and suggestions so that in the future this healthy car could integrate with the school children screening program (health services in the school environment) together with the puskesmas and PT Timah Tbk and schools and related agencies in providing services.
"The success of the healthy car program is the most important thing is the desire of the community to start having their health checked as early as possible so that efforts to live a healthy and quality life are much better," he emphasized.
