JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk won two awards at the 2023 Top GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) Awards organized by Top Business at the 2023 Top GRC Awards Peak event at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Wednesday (6/9/2023).
Two awards were won by PT Timah Tbk, namely Top GRC Awards 2023 4 Stars and The Most Committed GRC Leaders 2023 which were given to the Main Director of PT Timah Tbk Ahmad Dani Virsal.
The 2023 GRC Awards are an appreciation for institutions/companies that have excelled in implementing governance, risk management and compliance. There are four pillars of governance that are assessed, namely ethical behavior, transparency, accountability and sustainability.
The 2023 GRC Awards are an annual event held since 2019 Top Business, this year's theme is Building Resilient Future Through ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) and GRC.
The Top GRC Award also involved judges from the Indonesian GRC Association, Indonesia Risk Management Professional Association, the Indonesian Compliance Professional Institute, and the Indonesian Governance Professional Association, as well as lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjadjaran University, Bandung.
Chief Organizer of the Top GRC Awards 2023 M. Lutfi Handayani said the Top GRC Awards were an assessment and award given to companies that had performed well and implemented effective and quality GRC in managing their business.
"This means that through the 2023 Top GRC Awards activities, there is a desire to continue to encourage the development of business resilience in the future, through the ESG approach and GRC principles. "The implementation of ESG and GRC leads to the company's business performance continuing to grow sustainably," said M. Lutfi Handayani.
Lutfi added, besides the assessment and awarding, there was also a shared learning aspect for the participating companies because the Top GRC Awards Webinar and GRC Summit were also held.
"Congratulations to the company that won this award, hopefully this will further motivate the management and internal companies to continue to improve sustainable business performance," he said.
Chairman of the 2023 Top GRC Awards Jury, Antonius Alijoyo, said that there were several assessment processes carried out, such as in-depth interviews and the commitment of top level management in implementing GRC.
He said the more effective the GRC implementation, the business performance of companies in Indonesia would remain safe and grow well. Thus, public and investor confidence, both from within and outside the country, will be maintained, even increasing.
"We appreciate the directors and commissioners who attended the judging interview. Because this also shows the high commitment of top level management in implementing GRC in the company. Our assessment was carried out collectively in the Plenary Session of the Jury by assessing the completeness of the system, infrastructure and aspects of GRC implementation. Including the output of business performance," said Antonius.
Meanwhile, PT Timah Tbk Corporate Secretary Abdullah Umar said the award was a motivation for the company to continue its commitment to implementing GRC.
"PT Timah Tbk's success in winning this award cannot be separated from management's strong commitment to implementing GRC (governance, risk and compliance) principles as the basis for implementing the company's business processes," said Abdullah.
Abdullah said the company is also committed to paying attention to a comprehensive concept in integrating GRC implementation which aims to identify all risks related to company routines, namely the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects in carrying out business processes.
