PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk won the Patriana Award 2023 at the Bangka Belitung Islands Province level in the Large Scale Enterprise category from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
This award was handed over by the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung to the Head of International Relations and Post-Work Management of the HR Division of PT Timah Tbk Renny Hutagalung in the Pasir Padi Room, Office of the Governor of Bangka Belitung, Monday (12/6/2023).
The Patriana Award is an award given by the president and organized by the Employment Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) for Provincial, Regency/City Governments, large, and medium-scale business actors, public service sector businesses, and micro-enterprises that fully support the implementation of employment social security.
The Head of the Bangka Belitung Employment BPJS, Abdul Shoheh said, the Patriana Award is an appreciation from the government to district/city governments, large and medium scale companies, and micro businesses that care about employment and social security protection.
With this award, it is hoped that Regency/City Governments, large and medium scale companies, and micro businesses can improve protection for their workers.
"We hope that companies and the government can improve protection for active workers, daily workers. With this Paritrana they can also provide social protection for underprivileged people around them," he said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu appreciated the recipients of the 2023 Paritrana Award at the Provincial Level.
He hopes that stakeholders can spur motivation to be more advanced, achieve, and increase in providing protection for workers in Bangka Belitung Province.
According to him, the Employment BPJS guarantee is important for workers, because this protection can increase the sense of security for the workers' families, as well as provide certainty of economic sustainability in the event of unwanted risks.
"So far, employment social security is still synonymous with formal workers, but now employment social security has been able to reach vulnerable workers through local governments and business entities," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Corporate Communications at PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, said that PT Timah Tbk is very concerned about workers' rights which have been accommodated in the cooperation agreement.
In addition to providing protection through Employment Social Security for workers, PT Timah Tbk through CSR also provides Employment BPJS for fishing communities and vulnerable groups in Babel. (*)
