PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk Bangka Land Production Unit (UPDB) won the 2022 Subroto Award given by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The issuer with the TINS ??code has won the highest award at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the Field of Effective Mineral and Coal Mining Technology Innovation towards Net Zero Emission (NZE).
The 2022 Subroto Award was presented by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif and the Director General of Mineral and Coal, Ridwan Djamaluddin, which was received by the Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Tbk Purwoko. This award was held virtually, Tuesday (4/10/2022).
The awarding of 2022 Subroto Award was also attended by the Minister of Mines and Energy for the 1978-1988 period, Prof. Dr. Subroto. This award is also the highlight of commemorating the Mining and Energy Anniversary of 2022.
PT Timah Tbk made an innovative modification of micropropagation technology by using new and renewable energy (EBT) based on environment, social and good governance (ESG) in support of Net Zero Emission (NZE).
In this innovation, PT Timah Tbk developed micropropagation technology or tissue culture. Through this tissue culture method, it is an effort to present superior seeds which will later be used for company reclamation in an attempt to reduce the effect of greenhouse gases.
PT Timah Tbk consistently carries out reclamation on ex-mining land by planting and reclamation in its form. Reclamation by planting requires superior seeds.
This innovation is expected to be able to provide benefits to the environment, community, and mining actors in restoring ex-mining land.
This innovation aims to succeed in the central government's program by implementing integrated mining in environmental management and impacting zero emission efforts in the mining industry.
This tissue culture innovation provides an opportunity to produce superior seed acceleration products that are ready for planting and are massive and ready to be planted in disturbed areas due to mining activities, both in the IUP PT Timah Tbk or outside the IUP.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif expressed his appreciation to the winners of the 2022 Subroto award who have supported and carried out various innovations in the development of the energy and mining sectors.

Meanwhile, the Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk, Abdullah Umar, said that this award will be a motivation for PT Timah Tbk to implement mining that prioritizes the principles of good mining practices.
