JAKARTA -- PT TIMAH Tbk again won the Best Corporate Secretary in Diversified Metals & Minerals Industry Sector Basic Materials award at the 2022 Indonesia Top GCG & Corporate Secretary Award organized by The Iconomics.
This award was presented by the Founder and CEO of The Iconomics Bram S. Putro as well Chairman of the Executive Board of the National Committee on Governance Policy (KNKG) Prof. Dr. Mardiasmo, MBA., Akt to the Head of Secretariat and Protocol Division of PT Timah Tbk Guntur Avriyandi, at Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta, Friday (16/12/2022).
Founder and CEO of The Iconomics Bram S. Putro said that this award is the second year that The Iconomics has been held.
Business patterns are currently starting to change and continue to grow so Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is an important part of supporting the progress and development of the company.
"Currently, businesses have changed and are demanding to be more innovative. With this award, it can describe the implementation of GCG by the company to support the company's progress in the future," he said in his remarks.
He hopes that this award can provide motivation for companies to strengthen the role of Corporate Secretary.
"Hopefully this award will provide a stimulant for companies to strengthen their Corporate Secretary," he said.
In the same vein, the Head of the Board of Management of the National Committee on Governance Policy (KNKG) Prof. Dr. Mardiasmo, MBA., Akt said that good company management will have an impact on the company both in terms of financial performance and corporate image.
GCG implementation is supported by the role of a Corporate Secretary who has tasks and functions that are not easy.
"The role of the Corporate Secretary is very important because the Corporate Secretary manages community traffic to internal and external. Corporate Secretary must be agile because it builds communication with management, shareholders, including journalists," he said.
He congratulated the Corporate Secretary from each company who won the Best Corporate Secretary award.

In giving this award, The Iconomics conducted a number of assessments such as qualitative indicators assessed in the last two years including compliance, corporate plan, performance statement, and responsibility.
