JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk won 35 ENSIA (Environmental and Social Innovation Awards) 2023 awards organized by PT Sucofindo at the Gumaya Tower Hotel, Semarang, Central Java, Thursday (10/8/2023)
In addition, PT Timah Tbk also won an award as Best of the Best Participant ENSIA 2023 which was assessed by the number of papers that passed the judging and the achievement of the platinum category and the distribution of the platinum category from each aspect.
This TINS-coded issuer won four awards in the Silver category, 16 awards in the Platinum category, and 15 awards in the Gold category. ENSIA 2023 Award Received by Head of K3LH Division of PT Timah Tbk, Tonggo P. Situmorang.
ENSIA is an award given by PT Sucofindo to business actors who have committed to environmental and social innovation in carrying out their business processes.
A total of 35 awards were won in seven aspects namely Energy Efficiency Innovation, Emission Reduction Innovation, Water Efficiency Innovation and reducing the burden of water pollution, Social Innovation, Non-B3 Innovation, B3 waste reduction innovation, and Biodiversity Innovation (Kehati).
This award was received by PT Timah Tbk TB Paku, PT Timah Tbk Muntok Metallurgy Unit, PT Timah Tbk Kundur Production Unit, PT Timah Tbk TB Pemali and PT Timah Tbk Batu Besar Mine.
The presentation of the ENSIA 2023 Award was also attended by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) Alue Dohong, Director General of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Sigit Reliantoro and Commercial Director of PT Sucofindo Darwin Abas.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong said the award encouraged the business world to continue to innovate in carrying out sustainable management.
"This award is a trigger, enthusiasm, and raises awareness for corporations to implement good governance in their operations.
"Congratulations on this award, I hope this is a good step towards realizing better environmental governance in Indonesia and better climate change," he said.
Meanwhile, Commercial Director of PT Sucofindo Darwin Abas said the awareness and initiatives of business actors in developing environmental and social innovations have increased this year.
The ENSIA 2023 award was attended by 106 companies consisting of various types of businesses.
"ENSIA 2023 is an appreciation for business actors, this appreciation is important to increase commitment to sustainable environmental management and community empowerment. It is hoped that this innovation will continue to grow so as to inspire other business actors to do the same," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of K3LH Division of PT Timah Tbk Tonggo said, environmental innovation or eco-innovation is one of PT Timah's strategies as a corporation in creating innovative products and processes, which contribute to reducing environmental impact.
