KUNDUR -- To prevent abrasion in the Padang Kundur Beach Area, Kundur Village, Karimun Regency, PT Timah Tbk will install an abrasion-resistant embankment. The installation of this embankment is also an environmental management effort carried out in coastal areas.
This year, PT Timah Tbk plans to install 400 meters of abrasion barrier embankments which will be implemented in three points. For this reason, the company socialized this to the people of Kundur Village which was held at the Kundur Multipurpose Building, Wednesday (9/8/2023).
In this first phase, PT Timah Tbk will install an abrasion barrier embankment 200 meters long around Padang Kundur Beach. The installation of the abrasion barrier embankment was also welcomed by the community.
Head of Hamlet 3 of Kundur Village, Rian, said he was grateful for the installation of this abrasion barrier embankment. So that at high tide, water does not enter their homes.
"I feel happy and grateful for this activity because an abrasion barrier embankment can at least reduce the impact of abrasion due to sea tides. We are also calmer when the high tide does not reach our homes," he said.
Similarly, residents of RT 011 Yanto said the location of the embankment installation is very important, so that if there is coastal abrasion it will not disturb residents' settlements.
"I am pleased and happy with the activities that will be carried out by PT Timah so that the impact of beach abrasion does not reach the location of residential areas which are very close," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Kundur Marhalim Village strongly supports the activities that will be carried out by PT Timah. "Hopefully the Abrasion Resistance Embankment Installation activity can have a positive impact on the community around the location," he said.
In the same vein, the Head of West Kundur Sub-District, Yusufian, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for socializing this matter. So that the community can also support the activities that will be carried out by PT Timah Tbk.
