WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk continues to promote mangrove planting as an effort to preserve the coastal environment and also supports the government's program towards Net Zero Emission.
In carrying out mangrove planting, PT Timah Tbk also collaborates with the community, agencies, and stakeholders.
This time, PT Timah Tbk collaborated with the West Bangka Police to carry out mangrove planting on the coast in Sungaibaru sub-district, Mentok, on Friday (13/10/2023).
The mangrove planting in celebration of the 72nd Anniversary of the National Police Public Relations was also attended by West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Ade Zamrah, Head of the Muntok Metallurgical Unit, Ebbi Wibisana, and the community.
West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Ade Zamrah said that mangrove planting was carried out by the police in an effort to preserve the environment.
"The mangrove planting was carried out to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Public Relations of the National Police. There were 500 seedlings planted, hopefully, they will be useful for preserving nature, we hope that the mangroves can be maintained and cared for well," said the Police Chief.
The Police Chief appreciated PT Timah Tbk's support in environmental conservation activities. He hopes this can continue because mangroves have many benefits for the environment.
"Thank you to PT Timah for its synergy and support, as well as allowing mangrove planting at this location. Hopefully, this synergy and cooperation will continue with other activities," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Jaya Mandiri fishermen group Kasdi said PT Timah Tbk often plants mangroves in their area.
"PT Timah often plants mangroves at this location. Apart from that, in other areas, PT Timah Tbk also involves the community in carrying out similar mangrove planting," he explained. (*)
