PT Timah Tbk Together with Rumah BUMN Belitung Holds a Digital Marketing and Public Speaking Workshop for MSMEs

BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk together with the Belitung BUMN house continues to encourage the development and progress of Belitung Island MSME players. Increasing the capacity of the fostered partners is one of PT Timah Tbk's efforts so that the fostered partners can upgrade.

For this reason, PT Timah Tbk together with Rumah BUMN Belitung organized training for MSME players on Belitung Island to market their products digitally.

As many as 48 BUMN-assisted MSME participants took part in a digital marketing and public speaking workshop at the Belitung BUMN house, Jalan Kemuning, Tanjungpandan District, Belitung Regency, Thursday (23/09/2023) and Friday (01/09/2023).

This activity is concrete evidence of the government continuing to increase the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on Belitung Island.

According to the CEO of Rumah BUMN, Rudy Darwin, the event could not be separated from the support of the BUMN, namely PT Timah Tbk, PLN, Angkasa Pura II, Garuda Indonesia, Bank BRI and PT Pos Indonesia and related agencies.

These MSMEs are provided with provisions in facing global competition so that these MSMEs are ready and able to compete in the world of E-commerce / electronic commerce.

"So in this workshop, we provide training to MSMEs on how to enter digital marketing as well as public speaking training," he said.

According to him, it's not just the display of the product, with the provision of public speaking the MSMEs will be able to promote and arrange words that sell their products in the world of e-commerce.

One of the workshop participants who is a partner developed by PT Timah Tbk, Astuti, said that this workshop taught MSMEs to market their products through social media.

"This workshop is more about marketing how to sell products through social media applications such as TikTok and others," said Astuti.

Not only that, SMEs are also filled with knowledge so they can master public speaking. The progress of Belitung tourism must also be supported by good public speaking.

"Today we are more into theory tomorrow more into practice," he said.

Astuti explained this workshop had a big influence on MSME actors or participants. Participants who are technologically ignorant about technology or e-commerce finally gain knowledge in marketing products through social media applications.

"Maybe we mothers who were previously clueless about technology finally have the knowledge to create a TikTok application, then market products through TikTok," he stressed.

He appreciates PT Timah Tbk's seriousness in developing its fostered partners, according to him, PT Timah Tbk does not play around in helping its fostered partners to progress.

"PT Timah in this case is very serious about developing us, not only that, its capital support makes our products continue to develop as well," he said. (*)
