BANGKA SELATAN -- PT TIMAH Tbk once again demonstrates its commitment to empowering youth groups through its support for the development of the Home Creative Pepaya Community in Rias Village, South Bangka Regency.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s support for the Home Creative Pepaya Community is provided on an ongoing basis. This time, the Mining Industry Holding MIND ID subsidiary provided funding assistance for the construction of a creative gallery and workshop as part of a coaching program that has been carried out since last year.
This assistance serves as an important boost for the youth community, which has been actively developing creative skills and productive enterprises.
Iwan Sanjaya, Chairperson of Home Creative Pepaya, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s support for their group. According to him, the assistance brings new energy for the community to continue growing.
Iwan explained that the support from PT TIMAH Tbk will be used to build a gallery that will serve as a space for showcasing works, selling products, and comfortably receiving guests.
“Previously, we faced many equipment limitations. Alhamdulillah, PT TIMAH Tbk has helped us a lot, including now with the construction of a 2.5 × 3 meter gallery. This support boosts our confidence to keep creating and producing items with market value,” Iwan said.
He added that the community is not solely focused on profit, but also on instilling a creative mindset among young members. He emphasized that the community serves as a space for youth to learn, develop skills, and build a positive creative mindset.
“Success is a process. What matters is that the kids share the same mindset about creativity. At the very least, with this community, both new and long-time members can grow together with a shared creative outlook,” he said.
Currently, Home Creative Pepaya works on various creative and carpentry projects, ranging from wooden furniture making and room partitions to light steel construction. With ongoing support, they are optimistic about expanding their business line and increasing production capacity.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment is also appreciated by the Rias Village Government. Ahmad Rumaidi, Head of Government Affairs of Rias Village, described the assistance as a positive step in empowering local youth.
“On behalf of the Village Government, we thank PT TIMAH. This support has greatly motivated the youth of Pairem Hamlet. We hope this community becomes a role model for other young people in Rias Village,” he said.
This year’s assistance continues PT TIMAH Tbk’s previous support, which included providing various workshop equipment such as carpentry tools and production equipment. This support has played a significant role in improving product quality and broadening the skill sets of community members.
Through continuous guidance for creative youth groups, PT TIMAH Tbk continues to foster independence, creativity, and productive economic growth within communities in its operational areas.
