BANGKA -- PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitment to improving the quality of education in its operational areas is once again demonstrated through the distribution of student activity support to SMAN 1 Pemali, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).
This assistance is part of PT TIMAH’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program in the education sector. The program aims to expand access to education while improving the quality of learning and the development of young people’s potential in the company’s operational areas.
The Principal of SMAN 1 Pemali, Eflina, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s consistent support in enhancing the quality of education, particularly at SMAN 1 Pemali.
“All the programs we have proposed to improve student learning have consistently received support from PT TIMAH Tbk. Although there are procedures to follow, what we need has been well facilitated,” she said.
According to Eflina, the assistance provided by PT TIMAH Tbk has had a significant impact on improving students’ competence and creativity, especially in prestigious competitions such as the National Science Olympiad (OSN) and the National Student Arts and Literature Festival (FLS3N).
“With this support, we are able to provide more in-depth training for students who are preparing for or participating in OSN and FLS3N. Students can receive guidance from competent coaches, including online training, which of course requires additional costs,” she explained.
In addition, the assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk is also used to support various other student activities, such as creative competitions, campus expos, and student council (OSIS) programs that encourage innovation and creativity beyond regular school activities.
The Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, Eka Trimurti, added that this support greatly helps students develop their potential.
“There are many initiatives from students who want to participate in various activities and competitions. However, budget limitations are often an obstacle. Therefore, the presence of PT TIMAH Tbk for SMAN 1 Pemali is very helpful in accommodating these needs,” she said.
