PT Timah Tbk Supports South Bangka and Pangkalpiang City Citizens Reducing Medical Costs

SOUTH BANGKA - PT Timah Tbk gave away medical fee support for citizens from South Bangka and Pangkalpinang City. Whereas health has become PT Timah Tbk’s attention to give citizens their medical treatment.

This time, PT Timah Tbk gave away the aid for Herpi Deriska, a citizen from Toboali, South Bangka Regency and to a Pangkalpinang City citizen, Asrinie. This medical support is a form of the company’s effort to help reducing citizens’ medical fees.

Besides giving away medical fees to the citizen, PT Timah Tbk also regularly checks on local citizens through PT Timah Tbk’s Health Car to give medical services. One of the medical fee aid receivers, Herpi Deriska mentioned she has been ill for the last 16 years. Sometimes, she couldn’t even walk. Even so, she always keeps her spirit up.

In her family’s economic lackings, they can only get treatment as much as possible. She is helped by her family to look for medical treatments at some health facilities. “I have had this illness since 16 years ago. I was still able to walk. Now it has gotten worst, and my physic has gotten weaker. The scan result showed there is a tumor. But because of the pandemic, we can only get a regular check-in treatment with Regional Hospital’s doctor before being referred to (hospital in) Jakarta,” she confessed.

She is grateful to get aid from PT Timah Tbk as this could help reduce her medical fees and help with her family's needs. “All this time my family has helped with my medical fees, so I’m grateful to PT Timah Tbk for helping us with this. The money will be used for my medical need in Pangkalpinang, get x-ray scans, and also my living cost,” she mentioned.

She appreciates PT Timah Tbk who has helped her and prayed so PT Timah can keep contributing their support to the community. “We feel supported, hopefully in the future PT Timah Tbk can keep being useful for the community. I am deeply grateful and feel so much help for my medical fees,” she ended. (**)
