PT Timah Tbk Supports Simulation of Nutritious Meal Program for Students in Central Bangka, Observed by the Deputy Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Region Development

CENTRAL BANGKA – Deputy Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Region Development, Ahmad Riza Patria, attended the free nutritious meal simulation conducted by PT Timah in collaboration with the Central Bangka Regency Government. The event took place at SD Negeri 10 Pangkalan Baru, Batu Belubang Village, Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Wednesday (December 11, 2024).

The Free Nutritious Meal Program aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's priority initiative to reduce nutritional gaps, improve the quality of life for Indonesian children, and develop a generation of exceptional human resources ready to compete in the future.

Accompanied by the Acting Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Forkopimda, and Central Bangka Deputy Regent Era Susanto, PT Timah Tbk’s General Manager of Operations also participated in the event.

Ahmad Riza Patria stated that his working visit to Bangka Belitung Province this time was part of the Ministry’s efforts to evaluate the village fund utilization index as a component of village planning and assessment.

Additionally, he reviewed the implementation of President Prabowo's program—the Free Nutritious Meal Program—in Bangka Belitung.

"More than 2,500 students in Bangka Belitung Province, particularly in Central Bangka Regency, participated in the nutritious meal simulation. God willing, everything will be ready. The villages are prepared to supply the essential goods, and the children are ready to benefit from this program. It aims to enhance health, nutrition, and well-being, ultimately reducing stunting," Ahmad Riza Patria explained.

He also expressed appreciation for PT Timah Tbk's role and contributions to the program, hoping it would yield positive economic impacts for the community.

"This program also has the potential to boost the local economy, improve community welfare, and, most importantly, ensure our children grow into healthy individuals and future leaders," he added.

"We are grateful to the CSR initiatives from various companies, including PT Timah and regional banks, for contributing to this free nutritious meal program," he continued.

He noted that the program could also serve as a platform to highlight a region’s local potential, making it possible for these potentials to be included in the menu selection.

"Each region has its unique potential, including fish as one of Bangka Belitung’s resources. We aim to implement programs in every region that incorporate local wisdom and highlight the flagship products of each village," he explained.

He encouraged every regency, sub-district, and village to prepare the basic supplies needed for the Free Nutritious Meal Program. He urged village officials and BUMDes (village-owned enterprises) to take an active role in supporting the program.

Meanwhile, Central Bangka Deputy Regent Era Susanto expressed his gratitude for the corporate contributions supporting the event and hoped for continued collaboration.

"Alhamdulillah, today we are conducting the free nutritious meal simulation program in Central Bangka Regency for 2024, simultaneously in six sub-districts. At SD Negeri 10 Pangkalan Baru, which has 373 students, we held the event at Batu Belubang Village," he stated.

Era added that the Free Nutritious Meal Program has garnered support from various entities, including OPD, sub-districts, villages, PT Timah Tbk, Bank Sumsel Babel, Perum Bulog, and BRI.

"Hopefully, President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs will run smoothly in the future. God willing, the priority programs outlined by the Indonesian Government will be successfully implemented by the Central Bangka Regency Government," Era concluded. (*)
