WEST BANGKA --- West Bangka Regency is the host of the Fifth Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) which will be held next year. To make Porprov V activities a success, PT TIMAH Tbk also played a role in supporting the preparation of these activities.
The form of support provided by PT TIMAH Tbk is like providing facilities for athletes to practice. One of the sports that utilize the facilities of PT TIMAH Tbk is tennis.
The Head of the West Bangka Tennis Field, Supriyanto, said that currently, their athletes are training on the tennis courts owned by PT TIMAH Tbk, which is located in the Muntok Metallurgical Unit.
"Managers and athletes are ready to welcome Porprov, currently athletes practice using facilities from PT TIMAH Tbk at Unmet. Meanwhile, the museum will be rehabilitated. We hope that in Porprov, tennis can be held here," said Supriyanto.
One of the tennis athletes from West Bangka, Ardian, said that the tennis court at the Muntok Metallurgy Unit is suitable for practicing because it has complete facilities and infrastructure.
"The facilities and infrastructure are good, so the Unmet tennis court is also being used by West Bangka athletes to practice at this time," said Ardian.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the West Bangka KONI, Muhamad Amin, said that PT TIMAH Tbk not only facilitated athletes to practice but also supported the preparation of Porprov V in West Bangka.
"So far, quite a lot of PT TIMAH Tbk has provided support for sports progress and support for PORPROV, one of which is providing facilities for athletes to practice," he said.
He said that the sport of tennis in Porprov, would be held at the Unmet Tennis Court. In addition, Wisma PT TIMAH Tbk in West Bangka will also be a place for athletes to compete.
"We, the management of the West Bangka KONI, would like to thank PT Timah for the support. He hopes that all stakeholders will support the achievements of the West Bangka tennis athletes," he said.
As the host, he said, West Bangka must be successful in organizing, achieving, implementing, and administering as well as successfully mobilizing MSMEs.
"For this reason, the support of all stakeholders is needed in the implementation of PORPROV later," he said.
The Acting Governor has also given his support, in addition to holding a sports championship, he will launch a poster on the Babylonian Anniversary which will be held in West Bangka," said Amin.
