EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk continues to be committed to supporting the progress of sports on Belitung Island. One of them is by supporting various sports tournaments organized by the Government and community groups.
This time, PT Timah Tbk is again supporting the open volleyball tournament for the East Belitung Regent and Deputy Regent 2023. The tournament which will be held at the Simpang Pesak Village volleyball court will begin on July 11-23 2023.
Deputy Regent of East Belitung, Khairil Anwar said, the event was a collaboration between the East Belitung Youth and Sports Agency and the East Belitung PBVSI, and the Simpang Pesak Village Government.
"So, the name of this event is the regent and deputy regent of the East Belitung Cup 2023 because the team from Belitung Island is participating," said Khairil Anwar.
According to him, dozens of teams will compete in this event, such as 30 teams of male participants and 17 female teams.
The championship is also a test match for the Beltim Porprov team, to face Porprov Bangka Belitung next August.
"So this is a test match for the East Belitung Porprov team, preparation for the East Belitung team," he said.
Khairil Anwar appreciated PT Timah Tbk for supporting the volleyball championship.
"As PBVSI Beltim, I also appreciate PT Timah Tbk's assistance," he said.
He also suggested that in the future PT Timah Tbk hold a volleyball championship event in East Belitung, such as in the context of PT Timah Tbk's anniversary.
"We hope that PT Timah Tbk will hold a similar event in East Belitung, and we will definitely support it later," he said. (*)
