BELITUNG TIMUR - PT Timah Tbk supports the Management of the Indonesian Dive Sports Association (POSSI) Branch of East Belitung Regency to take part in the Regional Championship (Kejurda) Open Water Finswimming Provincial Management (Pengprov) Bangka Belitung (Babel) in 2022.
The Bangka Belitung Provincial Management (Pengprov) Open Water Finswimming for 2022 will be held at Pasir Padi Pangkalpinang Beach, Friday-Monday (23-26/12/2022).
East Belitung POSSI Chairman Suro Mappan Siregar said Beltim POSSI sent its members to take part in the Babel Regional Championship which was held by POSSI Babel Management in the Finswimming number 3000 meters on the high seas.
"POSSI Beltim participates in three categories, in the age number under 20 years men and women, men over 20 years," he said.
According to Suro, their departure had previously been coordinated with KONI Beltim, and thanks to PT Timah Tbk's assistance they were able to take part in the Kejurda.
"Essentially, a big thank you to PT Timah Tbk for supporting and supporting sports in East Belitung, especially diving," he explained.
Because he said, East Belitung has an area close to the sea, so diving must be maximized so that it can be on par and surpass other districts.
Therefore, they also appreciate Kejurda as a step to recruit diving athletes in Bangka Belitung.
"Because during the implementation of extreme weather, the selection of athletes was not optimal," he said.
He hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to support sports in East Belitung because PT Timah Tbk can be an example for other companies in supporting the progress of sports.
"So hopefully other companies will follow PT Timah Tbk's example, whose CSR also supports sports," he said.
