PANGKALPINANG -- Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in driving the community’s economy and creating job opportunities. Therefore, PT TIMAH Tbk remains consistently committed to providing tangible support in nurturing and helping MSMEs grow.
PT TIMAH’s commitment to supporting MSMEs began years ago. In 2000, the company launched the Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK), which provides capital assistance to MSME players. To date, more than 9,000 MSMEs have benefited from this program.
In addition, PT TIMAH continuously works to enhance MSME capabilities through training programs, mentoring, and participation in exhibitions.
This year, the TINS-listed company has prepared various strategic programs to improve the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs within its operational areas.
These MSME development programs are designed comprehensively, ranging from access to capital and product quality improvement to market expansion.
One of the main programs to be implemented is the distribution of revolving loan funds in collaboration with Bank Rakyat Indonesia. Through this scheme, MSME players will gain easier and more affordable access to financing to support their business development.
In addition, PT TIMAH will involve its fostered partners and MSME players in various exhibitions, both at regional and national levels. This participation is expected to expand their marketing networks and enable them to compete in broader markets.
Not only focusing on marketing, PT TIMAH will also organize training programs on seafood processing in its operational areas. This initiative aims to increase the added value of products based on local resources while encouraging innovation among MSME players, particularly in the fisheries and marine sectors.
In terms of legal compliance, the company also provides strong support by facilitating business licensing and product certification for MSMEs. With complete legal documentation, MSME products are expected to gain greater consumer trust and have better opportunities to enter modern and export markets.
During Ramadan, PT TIMAH also engages MSMEs to boost their sales turnover by purchasing various products. The company frequently involves MSMEs in a wide range of corporate activities.
One of PT TIMAH’s fostered MSME partners, Astuti from Belitung Regency, shared the many benefits she has experienced since becoming a partner.
In addition to receiving capital support, she also received production equipment assistance last year in the form of a freezer to help maintain product quality.
“The support from PT TIMAH has been extraordinary for MSMEs like me. Last year, I received a freezer from PT TIMAH, and it has been incredibly useful for my fish processing business,” she said.
