PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to reaffirm its commitment to implementing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) as an integral part of the company’s culture.
One tangible effort undertaken is the organization of routine safety assemblies across various operational areas, serving as a means to strengthen discipline, evaluate performance, and increase awareness of the importance of working safely.
At the beginning of 2026, this commitment was realized through the Joint Assembly of the Processing and Refinery Division held at the Smelter Plant yard, as well as the Mining Safety Assembly of the Area Division in Kundur, which was combined with the Signing of the 2026 Mining Safety Committee Commitment.
These joint assemblies were attended by employees in each of the company’s operational areas. During the assemblies, management also delivered evaluations, safety reminders, and measures to prevent potential workplace risks.
These OHS assemblies serve as an important platform for management to remind all employees and business partners to always prioritize safety aspects in every operational activity.
Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the implementation of an OHS culture is not merely about regulatory compliance, but is part of the values and work behaviors that must be embedded in the daily activities of all company personnel.
“Safety is the top priority. Through these routine assemblies, the company aims to build collective awareness that every worker has an important role in creating a safe workplace,” she said.
In addition to being a medium for socialization, the OHS assemblies are also used to campaign for compliance with work procedures and to emphasize the importance of reporting potential hazards at an early stage.
The company believes that a strong OHS culture will have a positive impact on operational performance, reduce workplace accidents, and increase productivity as well as stakeholder trust. (*)
