JAKARTA -- PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles has once again received national recognition. The company won the 2025 Indonesia ESG Leadership Awards (IELA) in the Leadership AAA – Indonesia’s Leader in ESG Transparency category, organized by the Bumi Global Karbon Foundation (BGK Foundation).
The award was received directly by PT TIMAH Tbk’s Department Head of Government Relations, I Putu Asre Ardhana, at Soehanna Hall, The Energy Building, SCBD, Jakarta on Wednesday (11/12/2025).
The 2025 Indonesia ESG Leadership Awards carried the theme “Aligning Indonesia ESG Leadership with Global Opportunities,” highlighting the importance of cross-sector collaboration to strengthen sustainable governance and Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage.
This event aims to recognize companies that demonstrate leadership, consistency, and transparency in applying ESG principles, while also serving as a platform for cross-sector collaboration to enhance sustainable governance in Indonesia.
The assessment was carried out independently by BGK Foundation based on the 2024 sustainability report, using a rigorous methodology referring to 33 ESG factors consisting of 11 environmental indicators, 11 social indicators, and 11 governance indicators.
Additionally, timeliness of reporting, alignment with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, and assurance conducted by an independent party were major considerations.
Achmad Deni Daruri, Founder of BGK Foundation, explained that the foundation’s assessment method is designed to ensure that the research results reflect a company’s level of transparency and responsibility in managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
The evaluation produced an ESG Disclosure Score and an ESG Leadership Index, which were used to determine ranking and award categories objectively and transparently.
“We hope this award motivates issuers and corporations to report their sustainability practices more openly, measurably, and in accordance with global standards,” said Deni.
Meanwhile, Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Danantara, emphasized the importance of sustainability reporting in the context of the global economy.
“Transparency in ESG reporting not only reflects a company’s social responsibility but also enhances its attractiveness to global investors, especially international financial institutions that now require ESG compliance as part of the funding process,” he stated.
This award reaffirms PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitment to integrating environmental, social, and good governance aspects into its business strategy.
