KARIMUN -- A total of 88 blood bags were collected during the PT Timah Tbk Service Month which was held at Wisma Timah Kundur, Tuesday (18/7/2023). Blood Donation is one of a series of activities carried out to welcome the 47th anniversary of PT Timah Tbk.
This blood donation activity was not only attended by employees of PT Timah Tbk but was also enthusiastically welcomed by the general public in the area.
One of the blood donor participants, Leny Laurence (45), a resident of the Sawang Village, said that she was very happy to be able to donate blood during PT Timah Tbk's Service Month.
"Hopefully a drop of my blood can help save the life of someone who really needs it. I also donate often because it's for my health," She said.

In the same vein, Candra Wahidin, a resident of Teluk Radang Village, said that whenever there is a blood donation activity conducted by PT Timah, he always takes part. Because in addition to maintaining body fitness, it is also to help the availability of blood at PMI Karimun Regency.
"Humans are social creatures, so as much as possible we can help and be useful to other humans," he said.
Likewise, Agustiar, an employee of PT Timah Kundur Unit, said that by donating blood you can also maintain your body in shape. "Our body will be healthy because the blood in the body continues to change with the production of blood in the body," he said.
This blood donor also received appreciation from PMI Karimun Regency, because the number of people who wanted to donate was quite high.
"Today's blood donation activity was quite surprising because so many employees and also the community took part in this activity so that in this blood donation activity a total of 88 blood bags were collected and this is quite extraordinary," said PMI official Karimun Lian.
According to him, the number that registered reached 100 people, but only 88 people who met the requirements.
"For blood needs in Karimun Regency alone, it reaches 500 blood bags per month. With this activity, it is really very helpful for the availability of blood at PMI. We hope that PT Timah can often carry out blood donation activities like this," he said. (*)
