PT Timah Tbk Quick Response, Sobari Can Finally Leave the Hospital

CENTRAL BANGKA – Sobari (50) is still lying weak in his rented house in Air Mesu Village, Central Bangka Regency, Friday (24/9/2021). His voice was still weak when greeted, still clearly visible streaks of pain when he tried to sit on the floor mattress that became his bed.

A few weeks ago, Sobari had just undergone intestinal surgery due to a leaky gut. He felt excruciating pain while working as a miner and was rushed to a hospital in Pangkalpinang. Sobari was sentenced by the doctor to suffer from a leaky gut so he had to get surgery, otherwise his condition would continue to decline.

Seeing her husband's condition getting worse, Sobari's wife Imas wanted her husband to be treated as best as possible. Coming from an economically disadvantaged family, Sobari's family struggles to find medical expenses for Sobari's surgery.

Costs that reach tens of millions, plus not having health insurance make it more difficult for the Sobari family, if they are not released from the hospital, the costs will increase even more.

"I don't have any money at all, I really don't have any money. I've cried once knowing I can't go home if there's no guarantee. My son and I are alone crying outside, we are a family of five, there is no family here because we come from outside, "said Imas, Sobari's wife.

Sobari with a sense of resignation also asked his son Rusdi to spread information about his condition which really needs help from people in order to be able to cover the cost of his treatment.

“So I told Rusdi that to ask for help from anyone or a newspaper report or something because Rusdi, who knows, who knows, can help pay for the hospital fees. That's where I gave up," he said slowly.

Not staying silent, Rusdi also asked his friends for help to spread information that his family really needed the community's help to help ease the cost of his father's hospital.

The information was disseminated through social media Facebook, bringing a positive impact to them with the large number of donations collected.

“Donations that were collected both from neighbors and also from the Facebook post, amounted to approximately Rp. 11,000,000, but this is not enough for surgery and medicines," explained Rusdi.

At that time Rusdi also made various efforts, such as submitting proposals to several places to help with medical expenses, but to no avail.

“I submitted a proposal asking for help, but they said it couldn't be done quickly because there had to be a process that took at least two weeks. We need it fast, so that the costs don't get bigger. Only PT Timah Tbk responded quickly and finally we were able to go home from the hospital," he said.

In addition to receiving donations, they were assisted by PT Timah Tbk to pay off their father's medical expenses. PT Timah Tbk responded quickly to the problems faced by the Sobari family. At that time, Sobari's family gave endless thanks.

In addition, Imas who suddenly received information that PT Timah Tbk would be assisted, felt very grateful even though their family did not know who PT Timah Tbk was.

"I've been crying outside the hospital, how do you do this? Fortunately, Rusdi was called by PT Timah. Thank God, I'm very grateful. I can't put it into words anymore because I've been helped," said Imas

Sobari and his family, who are immigrants, did not know what PT Timah Tbk was like, but for them PT Timah has helped their family.

"I don't know what PT Timah is, because they are immigrants. However, in difficult circumstances, we were assisted by PT Timah. Hopefully PT Timah Tbk will be more advanced, more successful, more victorious, and more blessed," concluded Imas. (**)
