CENTRAL BANGKA – PT Timah Tbk provides health services to the homes of the victims of the tornado in Kepola Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency, Thursday (31/3/2022).
The health service that came with this healthy car was a quick response from PT Timah Tbk to help people affected by the disaster. As is known, as many as 137 family heads were affected by this disaster with a total of 466 people.
The disaster that occurred on Tuesday (29/3/2022) has damaged residents' houses, including damage to the roofs of residents' houses. There was even one resident who had to be rushed to the hospital as a result of this disaster.
To ease the burden on the victims of the tornado, PT Timah Tbk has also handed over basic food assistance to public kitchens such as sardines, instant noodles, vegetables, hundreds of boxes of drinking water and others. Not only that, PT Timah Tbk also handed over material assistance in the form of 1000 pieces of asbestos.
The presence of this health service was enthusiastically welcomed by residents, Jumainah (53) said she was very happy that health workers had health checks up to come to the house.
According to him, it is necessary to carry out health checks because there are still many people who are traumatized as a result of the disaster. So this health check is necessary to know the condition of the residents.
“Everything felt fast and sudden, the wind was very strong that day when it was raining. My son was scared to see the asbestos rattle and fly. My husband is confused about what to do. I was really resigned and scared at the time," she said.
"There really needs to be a medical examination, earlier I was in high blood pressure maybe because I was still traumatized by what happened yesterday. It's also nice that I was given medicine by the doctor and can then know my health condition, "he said.
Not only him, several residents around his house also came to Jumainah's residence for a health check.
"Health is expensive, so people want to have their health checked," he said.
The Regent of Central Bangka, Algafry Rahman, appreciated the health services provided by PT Timah Tbk to its citizens. Undeniable
“We are greatly helped by the health services from PT Timah Tbk and they go directly to see the public's health firsthand. The extent to which they were traumatized," he said.
According to him, the Central Bangka Regency Government has also established a health post from the Bangka Belitung Health Service. He hopes, in the future, they can work together to provide health services for the community.**
