PT Timah Tbk Presents Free Homecoming with BUMN, Hundreds of Belitung Residents Can Return to Their Hometowns

BELITUNG - Through the BUMN Joint Homecoming Program 2023, PT Timah Tbk has realized the wishes of students and the people of Belitung Island to be able to go home to their hometown to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah with their families.

Hundreds of students and the people of Belitung Island took advantage of the 2023 BUMN Joint Homecoming program initiated by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir in the "Hopefully Homecoming, Homecoming with BUMN 2023" activity.

Free homecoming in 2023 PT Timah Tbk provides 1000 quota of participants with destinations to Bangka Island, Belitung Island, and Riau Islands.

As many as 338 Belitong Island students from Java, Sumatra, and Bangka Island took advantage of this homecoming program.

This time the first stage arrived for the group from Java Island, namely using the KM Sawita Ship from Tanjung Priok Port, and docked at the Port of Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjungpandan, Monday (17/4/2023).

The arrival was welcomed by the Head of PT Timah Tbk's Belitung Production Unit, Acmad Haspani, and his staff.

IKPB Central Coordinator, Giovanni Dwintara said, since the beginning they received information about the free homecoming plan, and they immediately established communication with PT Timah Tbk. This was also welcomed by MIND ID Mining Industry Holding members.

"Several times we have held meetings to stabilize homecoming, starting from online and offline, and we appreciate PT Timah Tbk's good intentions to ensure the schedule for the ship's departure directly to Jakarta," said Giovani.

According to him, four areas are divided into this free homecoming, namely Jabodetabek and its surroundings, West Java and its surroundings, Yogyakarta and its surroundings, and Sumatra Island.

"For Jabodetabek, West Java, and Yogyakarta and their surroundings they departed on the 16th yesterday and from Sumatra Island departed on the 17th to Bangka then to Belitung," he explained.

He explained, as many as 338 students took part in this free homecoming consisting of 169 people on the island of Java and 169 people also on the island of Sumatra, so they were divided into two waves.

"We are grateful and grateful to PT Timah Tbk, starting from transportation to consumption, everything is borne by PT Timah Tbk, even buses from Tanjungpandan Port to each sub-district are also provided," he said.

He appreciated PT Timah Tbk's steps in supporting development on Belitung Island. According to him, this free homecoming program is very useful and is clear proof of PT Timah Tbk's concern for the community.

"We are grateful to PT Timah Tbk and in general the implementation of this free homecoming has been a success," he said.

Meanwhile, a student from Semarang, Jifzi Rivanov, is happy to be able to take part in PT Timah Tbk's free homecoming so that he can reduce the cost of going home to gather with his family at this Eid moment.

"Thank God we didn't charge any fees, we even went from Semarang to the gathering point to Jogja, and the transportation costs were reimbursed," he said.

He hopes that BUMN together with PT Timah Tbk will carry out the free homecoming agenda regularly. Because this homecoming is needed by the community, especially before the Eid holiday.

Likewise, a student from Yogyakarta, Intan is very grateful for the free homecoming because it can certainly save on homecoming travel costs.

"The trip was quite long and all the trips were financed by PT Timah Tbk," he said.

Another Yogyakarta student, Alfarhan, said that there is no charge for the free homecoming trip from the start of leaving to arriving at each other's homes.

"The journey is quite far and tiring because of taking buses and ships, and my message going forward is to keep it implemented and the quota is also added," he said. (**)
