PANGKALPINANG -- To meet the constant and important need for blood supplies for health services, PT Timah Tbk plays an active role in supporting the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province to carry out its humanitarian mission.
PT Timah Tbk is collaborating with PMI at the provincial to district/city levels to increase blood supplies. Not only that, PT Timah Tbk through its CSR provides direct support for PMI such as improving facilities and infrastructure.

Over the years, PT Timah Tbk has established a close partnership with PMI in Bangka Belitung and consistently supports this organization's efforts to meet blood needs.
To support the availability of blood, one of the significant steps taken by PT Timah Tbk is to organize a routine blood donation program at their work location. Employees, business partners and local communities voluntarily participate in blood donation. This activity has become an integral part of the company culture, and has succeeded in increasing the blood stock available to PMI.
At the Momentum of the 47th Anniversary of PT Timah Tbk, one of the social activities carried out by PT Timah Tbk was blood donation. This was carried out at eight blood donation points last July and succeeded in collecting 472 bags of blood.
Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk collaborated with PMI Bangka Belitung to commemorate World Blood Donor Day, PT Timah Tbk provided spiritual support for blood donors at PMI Babel.
Some time ago, PT Timah Tbk also handed over donor chairs to PMI South Bangka. This is to increase the comfort of donors who want to donate blood.
Not only that, to increase awareness of Timah People to regularly hold blood donations, PT Timah Tbk also held an internal health seminar at PT Timah Tbk 'Blood Donation Together We Save Lives' to educate Timah People about blood donation which featured speakers from PMI Pangkalpinang.
Chairman of PMI Bangka Belitung, Abdul Fatah also hopes that in the future PT Timah Tbk can continue to collaborate with PMI in carrying out blood donation activities and continue to educate the public about carrying out blood donations.
"PMI has several programs such as disaster management, social conflict management, providing healthy and safe blood and PMI also builds human resources through volunteers. In the same vein, the Chairperson of PMI South Bangka who is also the Deputy Regent of South Bangka, Debby Vita Dewi, at PT Timah Tbk's Health Week activities in South Bangka, said that PT Timah Tbk had played an active role in supporting PMI's humanitarian mission.
