During the event, PT TIMAH Tbk presented a speaker from the Provincial Office of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Sopiar, Head of Institutional Development and Supervision Division, who delivered material on cooperative development.
Previously, PT TIMAH Tbk had also conducted similar cooperative partnership socialization activities on Bangka Island. The company has also established a cooperative service office to make it easier for cooperatives to fulfill administrative requirements.
Head of the Office of Manpower, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises of East Belitung Regency, Zikril, stated that the local government is committed to reorganizing its role in providing land facilities and basic needs for village cooperatives.
According to him, the training serves as a form of guidance and partnership so that cooperative administrators can develop managerial capabilities and understand regulations in order to properly manage Merah Putih village cooperatives.
“This partnership must be strengthened between PT TIMAH Tbk, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Villages. This is something new, and these cooperatives must be guided so that they understand managerial capabilities and regulations and do not feel intimidated. We are trying to improve the competencies of these cooperatives,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the cooperatives participating in the activity would fully understand the materials delivered so they could later convey them to their members.
One of the participants, Rudy from KDMP Selinsing Village, said that the socialization provided them with a clearer understanding of the partnership process with PT TIMAH Tbk.
“With socialization like this, we better understand the partnership cooperation pattern and system with PT TIMAH Tbk, especially since we have amended our cooperative deed and are already working with PT TIMAH’s partners,” he said.
He hopes that PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to guide them so they can become direct partners of PT TIMAH Tbk and generate welfare benefits for the community.
“Hopefully PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to accompany and guide us in developing KDMP. We hope that by partnering with PT TIMAH Tbk, our KDMP will continue to progress,” he added.
In the same vein, Fahrulliansyah, Chairman of KDMP Badau, stated that the socialization was very beneficial as it helped them better understand the administrative requirements and other necessary documents to become a partner of PT TIMAH Tbk.
“We now better understand what needs to be prepared, and we will also hold discussions with members. If agreed, we will amend the cooperative’s Articles of Association and make the necessary adjustments. Hopefully, collaboration with PT TIMAH Tbk will further empower and improve the welfare of our members,” he said. (*)
