PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk has once again deployed its Emergency Response Group (ERG) to carry out a humanitarian mission, assisting in flood and landslide relief efforts in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra on Monday, December 8, 2025.
This latest deployment follows previous ERG missions, as many communities still require assistance and additional affected areas have been identified.
Last week, PT TIMAH Tbk’s ERG team was sent to Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, and continues to provide logistics support, medical services, and assistance in restoring public facilities in evacuation areas. In response to high community needs in new locations, the company has dispatched additional personnel and expanded the reach of its aid efforts.
In this follow-up mission, the ERG team will travel by land carrying essential supplies, including clothing, food, blankets, infant formula and food, medicines, and other emergency necessities.
The aid will be distributed to Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo and Nagari Guguak Malalo in Batipuh Selatan District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra; Aceh Tamiang; and additional affected areas in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.
In addition to company support, the supplies being sent come from donations collected from PT TIMAH Tbk’s employees through the Timah Employees Association (IKT). The enthusiasm and concern of the staff continue to grow, allowing for an increased number of aid packages to be sent to affected areas.
A total of ten ERG personnel have been deployed in this second phase. Two personnel were sent ahead to conduct advance preparations, map the field conditions, ensure travel access, and identify actual community needs.
The remaining eight personnel departed today, carrying rice, clothing, instant food, and cleaning supplies to support post-disaster recovery efforts.
During this humanitarian mission, PT TIMAH Tbk’s ERG team is working together with the ESDM Disaster Response Post and BUMN Disaster Care to strengthen coordination and accelerate assistance to victims across the three provinces.
ERG Chairman Ali Samsuri emphasized the importance of the team’s caution during the long and challenging overland journey.
“The journey to the locations is not easy. Team members must take turns driving, avoid overexertion when tired, and ensure their personal needs are met. The safety of the team is our top priority,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to the PT TIMAH Tbk family for organizing donations and supporting the success of this humanitarian mission.
“Our goal is clear: to help our fellow citizens. On behalf of PT TIMAH Tbk, let’s uphold the company’s reputation by giving our best to assist them,” he added.
Ali noted that employee donations continue to come in and that PT TIMAH Tbk may send additional aid if the conditions on the ground require it.
