WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk introduced Mandiri and Integrated Agro Village or known as Amoi Village as a form of community empowerment program conducted by the company for high school students in Muntok District, West Bangka Regency.
A total of 37 students and teachers attended the activity which was opened by the representative of the Head of the West Bangka Regional IV Office of the Bangka Belitung Education Office, Adri. This activity was held at the Wisma Sriwijaya Unmet Building, Monday (22/8/2022).
Head of the K3LH Division of the Muntok Metallurgical Unit, Rheza Maulan Ibrahim introduced the students to Kampong Amoi which is one of the social innovations carried out by PT Timah Tbk.
Kampung Amoi is an empowerment program for the surrounding community in the operational area to improve the community's economy.
Representative of the Regional IV Branch Office of West Bangka Belitung Education Office, Adri appreciated PT Timah Tbk for organizing this activity for students so that it could provide new understanding for students.
"We thank PT Timah for inviting schools in Muntok sub-district in the context of PT Timah's 46th birthday and National Children's Day. It is hoped that children will take part in this activity well, because this is very useful," he said.
Similarly, the supervising teacher from SMAN I Muntok, Shinta said that the activities carried out by PT Timah Tbk were beneficial for students.
"We think this activity is very beneficial for schools, especially for our children, so that after returning from this activity the children can tell their family or friends about PT Timah's activities for school," he said.
Meanwhile, Nuriman, one of the participants from MAN I Bangka Barat admitted that he was happy to participate in the activity because he gained knowledge about PT Timah's activities.
"I'm happy because through this activity I gained knowledge about community empowerment through the Kampung Amoi program, PT Timah Tbk's social innovation," said Nuriman.
Similarly, Alaini Lise said that this activity could provide insight into the PT Timah Tbk Program.
"This can add insight into what programs PT Timah Tbk is carrying out, as well as knowledge and skills that have not been obtained in schools," she said.
