PANGKALPINANG — PT TIMAH Tbk continues to strengthen synergy and communication with communities in its operational areas. As a form of this commitment, the company held a meeting with the Bukit Layang Village Government, seven hamlet heads, and representatives of Bukit Layang’s community miners at PT TIMAH Tbk’s meeting room on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
The meeting, held in an atmosphere of openness, was attended by PT TIMAH Tbk’s General Manager of Production, Rian Andry, Division Head for North Bangka Area, Rahendra, several company management representatives, Bukit Layang Village Head Surono, along with the hamlet heads and community leaders.
During the occasion, the Village Head of Bukit Layang presented the chronology and aspirations of the community regarding the planned mining activities in their area. The dialogue served as an important platform to build mutual understanding between the company and the local community.
The meeting discussed several issues, including providing the residents of Bukit Layang Village the opportunity to conduct mining activities within designated areas.
Meanwhile, residents from other villages will also be accommodated to carry out mining, but in different areas.
Regarding the community’s aspirations about mining compensation, further discussions will still be held. Mining activities in Bukit Layang will continue, in line with the wishes of the local community.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s Corporate Communication Department Head, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the meeting reflected the company’s commitment to maintaining constructive communication with the community.
“This meeting is a persuasive step to directly listen to the aspirations of the community. We hope that tin mining activities can bring benefits to both the community and PT TIMAH Tbk,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bukit Layang Village Head Surono expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s initiative in facilitating the dialogue.
“We would like to thank all parties, especially PT TIMAH Tbk, for initiating this meeting. Hopefully, the outcome will lead to the best and most satisfying decision for everyone,” he said.
