PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to improving mining governance by organizing a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Mining Governance and Partnerships, along with Technical Guidance sessions (Bimtek), as a strategic step to enhance corporate governance practices.
The event featured speakers including the Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs (Jamdatun) of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Narendra Jatna; Deputy for Strategic Studies at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas RI), Major General TNI Rudi Purnomo; Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Cecep Mochamad Yasin; Coordinator at the Jakarta Special Region High Prosecutor’s Office, Zulkifli; and Head of the South Bangka District Prosecutor’s Office, Sarbinin Usman.
The forum served as a constructive discussion platform to align perspectives, strengthen synergy, and formulate concrete steps to improve partnership systems and sustainable mining operational management.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s Director of Business Development, Suhendra Yusuf Ratuprawiranegara, stated that PT TIMAH Tbk, together with the Attorney General’s Office, the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor’s Office, Lemhannas, and the Ministry of ESDM, jointly reviewed governance issues in the tin commodity sector from corporate, regulatory, and law enforcement perspectives. This initiative represents a strategic effort to establish better governance in the tin industry to deliver optimal benefits for the state, businesses, and the community.

Suhendra added that PT TIMAH Tbk has also carried out consolidation and governance strengthening through strategic discussions with stakeholders as a tangible step toward systematic improvements.
“This commitment will continue and be strengthened to improve and reinforce disciplined, transparent, and accountable mining governance, prioritizing the interests of the state and the welfare of the people,” he said.
He expressed hope that through integrated collaboration and effective oversight, various strategic issues—including partnership mechanisms, licensing compliance, and illegal mining practices—can be prevented and addressed comprehensively. As a result, the national tin industry can grow in a healthy manner while delivering optimal added value to public welfare.
The activity also forms part of the company’s transformation efforts to build a stronger governance system that is more adaptive to the dynamics of the national mining industry.
Through the implementation of the FGD and technical guidance sessions, PT TIMAH Tbk hopes to strengthen the integrity of all stakeholders, improve the quality of partnerships, and ensure that mining activities operate within legal frameworks and sustainability principles. (*)
