BANGKA BARAT -- PT TIMAH Tbk, in collaboration with the Air Putih Village Government, organized disaster response training for the Air Putih Village Emergency Response Team and local residents. The event took place at the Air Putih Village Government Office on Tuesday (November 11, 2025).
The training was opened by the Secretary of Air Putih Village, Yudianto, and attended by PT TIMAH Tbk’s Sub Division Head of Processing and Refinery, Kopdi Saragih. This activity reflects the company’s commitment to improving community preparedness for potential disasters, particularly fires.
The Emergency Response Team from PT TIMAH Tbk’s Processing and Refinery Division provided materials on fire prevention, handling, and mitigation steps. The goal of the training was to help residents understand how to prevent and minimize disaster risks in their surroundings.
In addition, PT TIMAH Tbk donated four fire extinguishers to the Air Putih Village Government.
The Secretary of Air Putih Village, Yudianto, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s initiative and contribution to enhancing community capacity.
“We are grateful to PT TIMAH Tbk for their attention to Air Putih Village. This training is very useful in providing knowledge to the community, especially in fire prevention and response. We hope activities like this will continue in the future,” he said.
He added that forest and land fires still occur in the area during the dry season.
“Household fires rarely happen, but forest and land fires still occur during the dry season. With this training, residents can be better prepared and understand how to respond properly,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Air Putih Village Consultative Body (BPD), Darwin, who also participated in the training, said the activity was very beneficial for the community.
“On behalf of the people of Air Putih Village, we would like to thank PT TIMAH Tbk for the education provided. Disasters can happen at any time, so with this training, we now have the knowledge to respond effectively. We hope activities like this will continue on a regular basis,” he said.
