BANGKA - PT Timah Tbk handed over assistance to Firman (43) Sungailiat fishermen who had a marine accident some time ago. This assistance was handed over by the Regent of Bangka Mulkan together with General Manager of PT Timah Tbk Bangka Belitung Robertus Bambang Susilo Region on the sidelines of Mangrove planting activities in Sungailiat Fishermen's Area II, Thursday (7/10/2021).
Firman said the ship he was on with his partner was hit by waves due to extreme weather that caused them to have a marine accident. "Our boat was hit by a wave, so it lost its balance, my friend and I fell a lot," he said.
At the time of the incident, there were no serious injuries they suffered, only they were exhausted while swimming in the ocean to reach the shoreline. Unfortunately, at that time there were no fishing boats passing by so no one could provide help. "Just tired because a dozen miles to be able to rest up to the beach," he said.
He was grateful for the help of PT Timah Tbk so that he could repair ships damaged by marine accidents. "Thank you to PT Timah Tbk and hopefully be even more advanced. We the community are helped especially by the help of PT Timah Tbk which will be used for ship repair," he said.
Meanwhile, The Treasurer of the All Indonesia Fishermen's Association (HNSI) of Bangka Regency, Han's expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk which has consistently helped fishermen in the form of materials and groceries.
According to him, PT Timah Tbk often helps fishermen, especially fishermen who have experienced marine accidents. "We thank PT Timah Tbk for helping fishermen, we hope that in the future PT Timah Tbk will pay more attention to fishermen. Last month, PT Timah Tbk also helped some fishermen," he concluded. (**)
