EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk handed over assistance for the construction of the Al-Ihsan Mosque in Lalang Hamlet, Mentawak Village, Kelapa Kampit District, East Belitung Regency.
The assistance was handed over directly by PT Timah Tbk to the Chair of the Al-Ihsan Mosque Foundation and BKM, Haliliasi, witnessed by the Head of Kampit Susiawati Subdistrict, the Head of Metawak Village Agung Permana.
Chairman of the Al-Ihsan Mosque Foundation and BKM, Haliliasi, said that they had started building the new Al Ihsan mosque three years ago.
The initial idea for building a new mosque was because the condition of the mosque was old and the capacity was too small so that on Fridays, especially Eid, it could not accommodate the congregation and the congregation had to be outside the mosque.
"The process of building this mosque started from piling up land for one year and in 2019 construction just started," said Haliliasi.
According to him, the construction of the mosque used non-governmental funds and assistance from several parties including PT Timah Tbk.
"So PT Timah Tbk's assistance is very good and supports the process of building this mosque," he said.
Haliliasi said, in this case PT Timah Tbk greatly reduced the cost of building the mosque, because they still had limited funds.
He explained that the application process to PT Timah Tbk was carried out at the beginning of 2023.

According to Agung, the construction of the mosque has taken 3 years, so assistance is needed to speed up the process of building the mosque.
