BANGKA -- PT TIMAH Tbk has officially handed over the assets of the Baiturahim Mosque building, located in the Air Kantung area of Sungailiat Subdistrict, Bangka Regency, to the Baiturahim Foundation.
The handover of these assets represents one of PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitments to supporting the sustainability of social and religious functions within the community.
Basuki, Chairman of the Baiturahim Foundation, stated that Baiturahim Mosque was established in 1980 and has long served as a center for religious worship and social activities for the surrounding community.
“This mosque has been standing for a long time. The building was originally constructed by PT TIMAH. Praise be to God, as of January 2, the building and land status have now officially become the property of the Baiturahim Foundation,” Basuki said.
He explained that the process of formalizing the asset status took a considerable amount of time and went through various stages of coordination, including with the village administration and other related parties.
“The process was lengthy. We worked together, held discussions with the village head and various stakeholders, until everything was successfully resolved legally. Praise be to God, PT TIMAH Tbk has now handed over the building assets to the Foundation, and the land ownership process has also been completed,” he explained.
Basuki added that Baiturahim Mosque has been actively used for various religious activities, ranging from congregational prayers and regular evening religious studies to religious holiday commemorations and community social activities.
“Praise be to God, this mosque is very active. The courtyard is spacious, and during religious holidays, the number of worshippers can be very large. We are grateful that the mosque can continue to be well maintained and utilized to the fullest,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bangka Regent Fery Insani, during the handover ceremony of the Statement of Physical Control of Land to Baiturahim Mosque, said that PT TIMAH Tbk has long been an integral part of the social and religious life of the Bangka community.
“PT TIMAH has been present in Bangka for a long time and has not only focused on mining activities, but has also consistently contributed to the development and maintenance of houses of worship,” Fery Insani said, as quoted from the official website of the Bangka Regency Government.
On this occasion, Fery also invited all congregants to jointly pray for PT TIMAH Tbk so that the company may continue to thrive and provide positive contributions to the community and regional development.
“Let us pray together that PT TIMAH remains resilient, continues to prosper, and keeps delivering benefits to the people of Bangka,” he concluded.
