PT Timah Tbk Gives Medical Assistance to Kenza

PANGKALPINANG - Kenza Ramadhan (1) was sentenced by a doctor to suffer from cataracts since he was four months old. This resident of Pasir Putih, Rangkui District, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands Province must be referred to a hospital outside Bangka Island for treatment.

Economic constraints have prevented Kenza's parents from being able to bring their baby to get outside Bangka Island.

Kenza's parents, Lisa (33) recounted that she realized that her son could not see with focus after he bought a toy. Because, when holding the game, Kenza seems unfocused, so she feels suspicious about it.

“Finally, we took Kenza to the hospital for an examination. The doctor diagnosed that Kenza had cataracts, but after further examination, it turned out that Kenza's left eye nerve was completely dead, while the right eye still has a chance to recover," said Lisa when receiving assistance from PT Timah Tbk at her residence in Pasir Putih, Wednesday. (30/3/2022).

Lisa was confused about having to treat her child, while the hospital that could treat Kenza's disease was outside Bangka Belitung.

“As for the medical expenses, BPJS has covered it, but for the accommodation costs we don't know where to look, while I work just peeling onions and my husband only does odd jobs. So really confused," said Lisa.

She is very grateful to be able to get help from PT Timah Tbk, so that she and her husband can continue therapy for their baby.

“Thank you PT Timah for the help. Alhamdullilah, with this assistance, we are calmer to bring Kenza to therapy," he said.

"Currently, there is only one therapy with a duration of once a month. Hopefully, after attending therapy for three or four times later, if Kenza's condition is possible, surgery can be carried out and of course we hope Kenza can recover and can see," said Lisa.
