PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk has again facilitated MSME players who are PT Timah Tbk's fostered partners to obtain halal product certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for free.
Facilitation of halal certification is PT Timah Tbk's commitment to improving the quality and competitiveness of PT Timah Tbk's fostered MSME products.
This is because currently, halal certification is one of the instruments that products can reach national and international markets.
In carrying out the halal certification program for fostered partner MSME products, PT Timah Tbk is collaborating with the Bangka Belitung Institute for the Assessment of Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI).
In 2023, PT Timah Tbk will facilitate 20 fostered partner products to obtain free halal certification.
In 2022, PT Timah Tbk has also facilitated 19 fostered partner MSME products to obtain free halal certification.
PT Timah Tbk's Head of Corporate Communications, Anggi Siahaan said PT Timah Tbk continues to be committed to supporting MSME capacity building, one of which is with a free halal certification program for products of fostered partners.
He said, PT Timah Tbk through the Micro Small Business Funding (PUMK) program not only supports capital for MSMEs but also provides guidance, and facilitates promotion and marketing of MSME products.
"PT Timah Tbk is committed to supporting the development of MSME businesses for fostered partners so that later they can move up a grade and create jobs for the community and drive the economy of the surrounding community," said Anggi.
Through this free halal certification program, PT Timah Tbk's fostered MSME partners must continue to maintain and improve product quality so that later they can pass an audit from LPPOM MUI.
