PT Timah Tbk Expands East Belitung RAPI Communication Network to Outside Belitung Island  

EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah Tbk encourages the improvement of facilities and infrastructure for Indonesian Inter-Inhabitation Radio communication assistance (RAPI) Region 3106 East Belitung.

PT Timah Tbk provided supporting equipment for Radio Transmitting Repeaters (RPU) Repeaters to RAPI Belitung Timur which will be installed at Mount Tajam, Air Pegantungan Hamlet, Kacang Butor Village.

With the help of this equipment, it can increase the range of radio communication between residents throughout the island of Belitung and can even reach the outer islands of Belitung.

Head of Indonesian Inter-Inhabitation Radio (RAPI) Region 3106 East Belitung, Lisa Meilinda said, PT Timah Tbk's assistance would be used to improve or develop radio communication networks

So, by building repeat radio facilities both on Belitong Island and outside Belitung Island which they previously felt were still inadequate.

"With this assistance, it can be used to provide communication assistance in social activities, disruption of security and order, accidents, and search and rescue," said Lisa Meilinda.

According to Lisa, as many as 133 members of the Beltim Rapi who are spread across the villages and the Beltim Islands have felt greatly helped by the assistance of PT Timah Tbk.

He said, PT Timah Tbk not only assisted RAPI Belitung Timur but hundreds of people in matters of communication.

"We have great hopes for PT Timah Tbk to contribute in the form of assistance like today," he explained.

Previously, several years ago PT Timah Tbk provided assistance with similar equipment but it was still on a small scale and was installed on Bukit Samak Manggar. This tool is to facilitate communication between fishermen and the public while at sea.

So, this time the assistance is to expand the communication network beyond Belitung Island and they are optimistic that together with PT Timah Tbk and RAPI for more advanced communication radio.
