PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah's commitment to improving human resource quality has been demonstrated through various educational programs throughout 2024.
These initiatives aim to support the development of individual competencies among students, teachers, university students, and the general public.
One of the key educational programs is the provision of scholarships. Through the Pemali Boarding School program, PT Timah has awarded scholarships to dozens of students to pursue their education at SMAN 1 Pemali.
Pemali Boarding School has been an annual scholarship program since 2000 to support human resource development.
As a member of MIND ID, the Mining Industry Holding, PT Timah also facilitates internships for high school and university students.
Through the Timah Mengajar (Teaching by Timah) program, PT Timah has conducted training sessions for teachers to enhance their capacity to deliver quality education. The training involves experts and focuses on improving teachers’ literacy and teaching skills.
Additionally, PT Timah organizes the Inspiration Class program, where company management visits schools to motivate and share insights about the professional world, particularly within PT Timah, to inspire students.
In non-formal education, PT Timah has supported fire-handling training for students and parents.
To empower women, the company offers skill-building workshops, such as eco-print batik making, handicrafts, and small business development. These training programs not only equip participants with new skills but also create opportunities for women to contribute economically to their families and communities.
Recognizing the importance of facilities in supporting learning activities, PT Timah has also contributed to building educational infrastructure, such as school benches, and improving school facilities.
Providing school supplies to underprivileged students is another routine agenda of the company.
