CENTRAL BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk remains committed to distributing aid to the communities in its operational areas. Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), PT Timah Tbk provides assistance in various aspects to the people of Batu Beriga Village, Lubuk District, Central Bangka Regency.
President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Ahmad Dani Virsal, symbolically handed over assistance to the people of Beriga Village during the symbolic inauguration of the TNI AD Manunggal Air Movement and Social Work Collaboration between Kostrad and PT Timah Tbk in Beriga Village on Friday (December 15, 2023).
The aid handover was also witnessed by Commander of Kostrad Major General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa, President Director of PT Timah Tbk Ahmad Dani Virsal, Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung Safrizal, Chief of Police of Bangka Belitung Police Inspector General Tornagogo, Regional Military Commander 045, Brigadier General TNI Agustinus Dedy Prasetyo, Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman, and Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Tbk Nur Adi Kuncoro.
The CSR assistance provided by PT Timah Tbk to the people of Batu Beriga Village includes 500 packages of groceries for low-income households. PT Timah Tbk also provides assistance to 50 orphans and vulnerable children in Batu Beriga Village. MIND ID, a member of the Mining Industry holding, also handed over 1,200 productive plant seedlings such as mango and soursop seedlings.
On the same occasion, PT Timah Tbk also symbolically handed over assistance for wells to be built at 15 locations in Beriga Village. This well assistance is PT Timah Tbk's effort to facilitate community access to water. PT Timah Tbk also provided health services to the people of Beriga Village through the PT Timah Tbk Mobile Health program.
Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman appreciated PT Timah Tbk's commitment to distributing CSR programs to the communities in their area, as this assistance has a significant impact on community health.
"Alhamdulillah, PT Timah Tbk pays great attention to the people of Central Bangka with its CSR concern. This role is very useful. We pray that PT Timah Tbk can carry out its duties as optimally as possible and provide benefits to us, the people of Central Bangka," he said.
The Head of Beriga Village appreciated the social work activities carried out by PT Timah Tbk in collaboration with Kostrad to help the people in their village.
"PT Timah Tbk, together with Kostrad, builds these bore wells to be used for the community's drinking water, while the wells dug by PT Timah Tbk are for washing, bathing, and other needs," he said.
One of the beneficiaries of the orphans and vulnerable children assistance, Qisya (9), expressed joy in receiving assistance from PT Timah Tbk.
"Alhamdulillah, I am very happy to receive assistance. It will be saved for school needs," said the 4th-grade student at SDN 12 Beriga Village.
Weni, a resident of Beriga Village, said she was happy to receive mango seedlings that would be planted in her home garden.
"I don't have a mango tree yet, there is land at home, so it will be planted there. Who knows, it might grow and produce fruit that can be eaten together. It's quite good so I won't have to buy fruit again," she said. (*)
