PANGKALPINANG — PT TIMAH Tbk distributed a total of 10,366 basic food packages to victims of natural disasters, orphanages, social foundations, and vulnerable community groups across the company’s operational areas in 2025.
This assistance program is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s commitment to its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to help ease the burden on communities affected by emergency situations and economic hardship.
The tens of thousands of food packages were distributed in stages to several regions, targeting residents affected by disasters such as flooding as well as underprivileged families in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.
The Head of Corporate Communication Department of PT TIMAH Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the assistance reflects the company’s presence and concern for communities in need.
“The distribution of 10,366 basic food packages is a manifestation of PT TIMAH Tbk’s concern for communities affected by disasters and social groups requiring attention. We hope this assistance can help meet basic needs and ease the burden on the community,” she said.
She added that in every distribution effort, PT TIMAH Tbk coordinates with local governments, volunteers, and foundation managers to ensure the assistance is well-targeted and reaches those who truly need it.
This social assistance program is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s ongoing efforts to support community social resilience, especially during difficult times caused by disasters and economic pressures.
Deputy Mayor of Pangkalpinang, Dessy Ayutrisna, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s swift response in helping meet the food needs of communities affected by tidal flooding. The food assistance is expected to help ease the burden on residents impacted by the disaster.
“The basic food assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk for Pangkalpinang residents affected by tidal flooding—thank you to PT TIMAH Tbk for its concern. Our community has certainly been greatly helped by this care,” said Dessy.
