PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk has deployed its Emergency Response Group (ERG) to carry out a humanitarian mission supporting the handling of flash floods and landslides that struck several areas in North Sumatra on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
A total of 20 ERG personnel were sent on this mission. They are part of the Energy and Mineral Resources Disaster Response unit and BUMN Disaster Relief, and will head to affected points in South Tapanuli. The team will be centered in the Mandailing area as the main coordination point before moving into the impacted locations.
The deployed team consists of rescuers, medical personnel, and logistics staff. They are equipped with evacuation and rescue tools, medical equipment, and will also provide food assistance to communities in need.
PT TIMAH Tbk’s ERG team has frequently supported national disaster responses, including in Cianjur, Garut, East Belitung, Bengkulu, Lebak Banten, and during the tsunami in Ujung Kulon, Banten.
ERG Chairman Ali Samsuri emphasized the importance of discipline and safety during their assignment. He highlighted the need for unity when carrying out their duties.
“You are representing PT TIMAH Tbk. Despite our limitations, I believe our commitment to help is strong. Always follow the instructions of the team leader on site. Do not leave the location without the leader’s knowledge. Take care of your health and safety,” he said.
Similarly, PT TIMAH Tbk Corporate Secretary Rendi Kurniawan conveyed a message from President Director Restu Widiyantoro to always prioritize safety.
“The President Director reminds everyone that you must be safe before you can save others. Pay attention to safety, be mentally prepared, and maintain your health,” he said.
The deployment of PT TIMAH Tbk’s ERG team is not only a swift response to a national disaster but also a continued commitment to providing direct benefits to the community.
PT TIMAH Tbk hopes the presence of the ERG team will help accelerate emergency response efforts, support affected residents, and strengthen inter-agency solidarity in humanitarian actions.
