PT Timah Tbk Concrete Steps to Support Disability Education, Never Absent from Supporting the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation

PANGKALPINANG -- People with disabilities are part of society, various parties, including PT Timah Tbk, continue to assist them in fulfilling their rights.

PT Timah Tbk takes proactive steps to support disability education. In an effort to increase accessibility and inclusivity, members of the MIND ID Mining Industry holding have several programs to support people with disabilities.

In 2023, PT Timah Tbk will provide 14 wheelchairs for people with disabilities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, from children to the elderly.

In providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, PT Timah Tbk also provides space for people with disabilities to become workers at PT Timah Tbk. Currently, there are dozens of PT Timah Tbk workers who are people with disabilities.

Apart from that, access to facilities and infrastructure at the PT Timah Tbk office is also considered disability friendly.

PT Timah Tbk in mid-2023 also received a visit from the National Commission for Disabilities (KND) of the Republic of Indonesia who also socialized about mainstreaming disabilities.

In the education sector, PT Timah Tbk since 1955 has supported the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation to provide access to education for people with disabilities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

After 68 years of existence, PT Timah Tbk has never failed to support the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation through financial assistance and company assets.

General Chairperson of the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation Management, Dailami Zuyadi, said that PT Timah Tbk continues to support the YPAC Foundation to provide the best education for people with disabilities. Through the Company's CSR program, the TINS ??issuer helps the YPAC Foundation to continue to exist.

"This school building is also an asset of PT Timah Tbk. The establishment of the YPAC Foundation is also inseparable from the initiation and role of PT Timah Tbk. Until now, we are still assisted financially for school operations from PT Timah Tbk," said Dailami recently.

He said that currently there are around 130 children with various learning disabilities at YPAC Pangkalpinang. Hundreds of children have been recorded as alumni of this school.

PT Timah Tbk also routinely helps with children's development activities at YPAC Pangkalpinang, such as competitions and entertainment activities.

"Not only educational activities but also activities for children to take part in competitions and other activities. In 2021, PT Timah Tbk also celebrated the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities," he said.

Over time YPAC Pangkalpinang also continues to develop, they currently have a Children's Growth and Development House (RTKA) to support the education and therapy process for children with special needs.

"PT Timah Tbk could be said to be more than a foster parent to the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation because it always helps not only with operations but also with events," he said.

He hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to exist so that it can continue to play a role in supporting education for people with disabilities.

"Hopefully PT Timah Tbk will continue to be successful and prosper again. So that it can continue to support the education of children with disabilities," he hoped.

PT Timah Tbk also collaborates with stakeholders to help disability groups, such as the Social and Village Community Empowerment Service of Bangka Belitung Islands Province. (*)
